Qualifying Process – Part One
Once the criminal record checks and ADI registration have been successfully completed, potential instructors (PDIs) are clear to proceed with the qualifying process.
Part One – PDIs must prepare for a two-part theory test:
Multiple Choice
- Part one starts with a multiple choice question test of one hundred questions.
- Each question has four possible answers, one of which is correct.
- For this computer-based, touch screen test you have ninety minutes.
- The pass mark is 85%.
- You do not necessarily need training to pass this section of part one.
Hazard Perception
- After three minutes has elapsed the hazard perception element of part one will begin.
- You will see fourteen video clips each lasting about one minute.
- As developing hazards are identified you register this by pressing the mouse button.
- In one of the clips there are two scoring hazards.
- A maximum of five points can be scored for each of the fifteen hazards giving a possible total score of seventy five.
- The pass mark is fifty seven.
- We recommend you take training for this section of part one.
