Trainee Licences
A trainee licence allows you to give paid instruction to pupils before you have passed the part three test. It is a means of gaining experience in preparation for the test of instructional ability.
However, it is not essential or necessarily desirable to work on a trainee licence in order to pass the part three test.
You must have completed at least forty hours of instructional training within the six months before applying and at least 25% of it must have been in a vehicle.
You must not advertise yourself as if you were a fully qualified instructor.
You must receive either supervision from your sponsoring ADI during the six months or a minimum of an extra twenty hours of training. A supervision or training record must be kept.
